Support for US President Donald Trump has fallen to its lowest level since his return to office, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on March 24, 2026.
The four-day poll, which closed on Monday, shows that 36% of Americans approve of his performance, down from 40% a week ago.
The decline in support is largely due to negative perceptions of the Trump administration's handling of the cost of living. Only 25% of respondents approve of the way the Trump administration is handling the issue, while gasoline prices have risen since the launch of coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.
The poll also shows that 61% of Americans disapprove of attacks on Iran, while 35% express support for them, a slight decrease compared to the previous week.
However, support for Trump remains relatively stable within the Republican Party. About one in five Republicans disapprove of his performance, while the share of those who criticize his handling of the cost of living has risen to 34%, from 27% a week ago.
On the political front, 38% of registered voters believe Republicans are better able to manage the economy, compared to 34% who prefer Democrats.
The poll was conducted nationally with 1,272 American adults and has a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.
