US President Joe Biden has warned that it will be "difficult" to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas by the holy month of Ramadan.
"It looks difficult," Biden told reporters when asked if a deal to halt the five-month conflict could be reached by Ramadan, which is expected to begin on Sunday.
Canada has announced it has resumed funding to the UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA), more than a month after suspending it along with fifteen other countries.
UNRWA has been at the center of controversy since, in late January, Israel accused 12 of its staff of being involved in the October 7 attack carried out by the Palestinian movement Hamas.
"I announce the resumption of Canada's funding for UNRWA," International Development Minister Ahmed Hussen said during a press conference.
This decision was made "due to the dire humanitarian situation on the ground ," he explained, noting that Canada is "the first G7 country to resume funding."
