US President Donald Trump has stated that the quickest solution to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza region is the immediate surrender of Hamas and the release of hostages.
"The quickest way to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is for Hamas to surrender and release the hostages," he wrote in a post on social media.
Meanwhile, US special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
Witkoff arrived in Israel today, a week after the US withdrew from Gaza ceasefire talks, accusing Hamas of "bad faith" in the negotiations.
