President Donald Trump said today that the United States is getting very close to achieving its military objectives against the "Terrorist Regime of Iran," suggesting a possibility of scaling back major operations in the Middle East.
In a post on 'Truth Social', Trump listed five major US objectives that have been achieved or are on the verge of being achieved. This is a positive message that gives some hope that the war in Iran may soon end, which would allow the normal functioning of the region, which has suffered colossal damage from the 21-day war, to begin.
“ We are coming very close to achieving our objectives as we consider scaling back our major military efforts in the Middle East in relation to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iran’s Missile, Launcher and related capabilities. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Naval and Air Forces, including Anti-Aircraft Weapons. (4) Never allowing Iran to approach a Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the United States can respond quickly and forcefully to such a situation, if it does occur. (5) Defending, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and others,” Trump wrote, among other things.
He then spoke about the Strait of Hormuz, which he insisted is the responsibility of the countries that use it. He said that the US will not deal with that part and that after the war is over, the interested countries can guarantee the security of the Strait.
However, he stressed that the moment the US withdraws, Iran will no longer have the capacity to endanger anyone, so patrolling Hormuz will be an easy task for them.
"The Strait of Hormuz will have to be guarded and patrolled by other nations that use it, the United States does not! If asked, we will assist these countries in their efforts for Hormuz, but this should not be necessary once the Iranian threat is gone. It is important to note that it will be an easy Military Operation for them," Trump wrote.
It is worth noting that Trump's posts on "Social Truth" often seem contradictory, as just a few hours ago, the US president targeted NATO countries as cowards after they refused to help him open the Strait of Hormuz.
