Macron "flirts" with Moscow: Europe needs stable relations with Russia

This 180 degree turn of France may give an indication that the war in Ukraine is coming to an end and Macron is laying the groundwork for restoring relations with Russia, whose energy resources are extremely important for the European economy, already hit by extreme growth of prices, as a result of sanctions against Moscow.

French President Emmanuel Macron has given the first indications that France will be ready to cooperate with Russia again, after the war in Ukraine.

During a visit to Kazakhstan, Macron stated that Europe needs a stable model of relations with Russia, to avoid escalations and conflicts.

" European defense architecture cannot be built on escalation and conflicts". "Russia is geographically a part of Europe, so we need to build a stable model of relations between EU members and non-members, and this includes Russia," Macron said, adding that Europe should be included when Russia and The US talks about weapons, Tass reports.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Macron steps outside the line of partnership with the USA. Months ago, when Washington tried to create an alliance with Europe to stop Chinese economic expansion and influence on the old continent, Macron visited Beijing and, alongside Xi Jinping, declared that France would not sever trade relations with China.
