A 33-year-old Chinese man has been sentenced to life in prison by a London court for raping at least seven women.
Sao Zhou raped his victims after drugging them, giving them a cocktail that he told his victims contained alcohol and a Chinese ingredient, but were actually powerful drug pills that rendered his victims unable to fight back, the Daily Mail writes.
He called the cocktail "Spring of Life."
The rapes took place in the apartment that the 33-year-old kept in a well-known London neighborhood, where he organized meetings aimed primarily at helping women newly arrived in Britain from China to create professional networks by making acquaintances with businessmen, at which the number of guests never exceeded 20 people.
According to the indictment, Zhu managed to gain the trust of the women he targeted, as they saw him as their “brother.” With this method, he managed to avoid receiving negative responses to his invitations.
After giving the victims the drink in question, the perpetrator would take them to his bedroom in an unconscious state where he would rape them.
His horrific acts were revealed when one of his victims found the courage to contact authorities and report that on one of the parties last June, she lost consciousness and woke up in his bed, raped, as she claimed.
Police officers who searched his home were faced with unprecedented findings after discovering that the 33-year-old had rigged his bathroom and bedroom with cameras, even placing them in the packaging of feminine hygiene products. At the same time, they found videos of women being raped, as well as hundreds of photos of women using the tube escalators at London Bridge station while he was taking pictures of them.
