Is Donald Trump's health in danger? This question has been raised since the discussion began on social networks about the bruise that appeared on his left hand. The President of the United States explained the bruise as caused by a hard blow on a table in Davos, during the recent World Economic Forum. The 80-year-old tycoon often appears with the back of his right hand bandaged, doing so to hide the bruises that the White House attributes to "frequent handshakes and daily aspirin intake as part of his routine cardiovascular treatment." Yesterday, January 22, it was Trump's other hand that was bruised.
"I slammed it on the table and put some cream on it," the US president told reporters who were escorting him back to the plane on his return from Switzerland. He then added, "I would say take aspirin if you love your heart, but don't take it if you don't want to have little bruises." Trump claims that the aspirin he takes every day, in a higher dose than recommended by doctors, causes those bruises. "When you take a high dose, they say, 'you're going to have bruises.' The doctors said, 'you don't need to take it, sir, you're in very good health.' I said, 'I don't want to take any chances.' But it's one of the side effects," the President explained.
Earlier this year, Trump explained to the Wall Street Journal that he was taking such a high dose of aspirin that "there was thinner, less dense blood flowing to his heart."
However, a White House official noted that photos of the US president taken on the morning of January 21 and 22 showed no marks on his left hand. In photos taken by Agence France Presse in Davos, Trump's left hand was intact. Now approaching 80, Trump also boasts that he excels on cognitive tests and, in the recent past, had repeatedly attacked Joe Biden, describing him as suffering from senile dementia during the presidential campaign.
