The number of civilians killed in Iran as a result of US and Israeli airstrikes since last Saturday has reached 1,172, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).
According to data published by the organization, at least 194 of the victims are children. In addition to civilians, HRANA reported that 176 members of the Iranian military forces were also killed.
The organization notes that between Thursday and Friday evening (US Eastern Time), several facilities protected by international humanitarian law were also damaged. These include a Red Crescent facility, three residential buildings in Tehran, and a facility of the National Iranian Oil Company.
According to HRANA, the current number of victims is approaching the total toll of last summer's 12-day war between Iran, Israel and the US, which the organization estimates caused around 1,190 deaths in Iran.
