Prince Harry loses a challenge at the Court of Appeal over the level of security he is given while in the UK.

Prince Harry's lawyers argued that he had been "singled out" for "inferior treatment" and that his safety and life were "at risk" following a change in security arrangements after he stepped down as a senior royal and moved abroad.

He had challenged the dismissal of his claim in the High Court against the Ministry of Interior regarding the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of the Kingdom and Public Figures, known as Ravec, that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the country.

A high court judge ruled last year that Ravec's decision, made in early 2020 after Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, stepped down as senior members of the royal family, was lawful. Harry's legal team argued that the judge had erred in his judgment.

Ravec's final decision, handed down on 28 February 2020, stated that protection from the Metropolitan Police would no longer be adequate after the Sussexes left and that they should receive a different degree of protection when in the UK.

Instead, the Sussex couple would receive a "personalised" security service, where they would have to give 30 days' notice of any plans to travel to the UK, with each visit assessed for threat levels and whether protection is needed.
