Croatian Foreign Minister Grlic-Ramadan tries to kiss German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. Reactions on social media are furious.
After a meeting of the interior and foreign ministers of the EU and the Balkans in Berlin, the Croatian foreign minister apparently tries to kiss the German foreign minister on the mouth in the joint photo. This case has caused outrage in Croatia: "Anger with Gordan Grlic-Ramadan and understanding for Annalena Baerbock".
The media reports on an "embarrassing moment" at the meeting of foreign ministers in Berlin. Activists for women's rights accuse Grlic-Ramadan of lack of respect and "failure", they call her "ugly", when they notice the moment that during the group photo the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock tries to escape the kiss.
Rada Boric spoke of a "completely inappropriate gesture" and an activist accused the minister of disrespect. It is written in the media that he did not embarrass himself, but many Croats. The newspaper "Jutarnji List" writes that Baerbock is clearly not feeling well.
The former Croatian Prime Minister wrote on X "Forcing a kiss on a woman is violence, isn't it?" Grlic-Ramadan rejected the accusations. He said that he wanted to greet the minister "in a human way"./DW
