The British media "The Mirror" has reported today about the death of Wagner's mercenary boss, saying that the latter may not have died yesterday after the crash of his private plane.
Russia's Civil Aviation Authority officially stated that Prigozhin and his close man Dmitry Utkin were on board the plane, while the Telegram channel Gray Zone, linked to Wagner, also said that their leader's body was found in the wreckage.
We recall that after the 62-year-old billionaire led a coup against the power of Vladimir Putin two months ago, he was warned that his life was in danger.
However, an expert has claimed that Prigozhin may not have been on board, even though his name appeared on the passenger list. Keir Giles, Senior Consultant at Chatham House's Russia and Eurasia Programme, told the US Mirror to "don't be surprised if he appears in a new video from Africa soon".
"It has been announced that there was a passenger named Yevgeniy Prigozhin on board. But some individuals are also known to have changed their name to Yevgeniy Prigozhin as part of his efforts to hide his travels," Giles explained.
"So, until we know for sure that it is the right Prigozhin, let's not be surprised if he appears in a new video from Africa," he emphasized.
