The Israel Defense Forces have released further details of the instructions given to staff at Gaza's Rantisi and Nasr hospitals before their evacuation earlier this week.
These included audio from a telephone conversation between an official in Rantisi and a senior officer in COGAT - the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territory, the branch of the army that deals with Palestinian civilians.
The conversation involved two men discussing arrangements to get ambulances to evacuate patients, the BBC reports.
Hospital official asks about hundreds of displaced civilians camped in two hospitals. The Israeli officer tells them to leave the main entrance at 11:20 and explains in detail which roads they must take to leave Gaza City.
And he tells the hospital official twice to make sure the civilians are wearing something white to show they are not combatants.
"They will all come out with their hands in the air," says the hospital official. "Perfect ," says the Israeli.
These conversations show the brutality with which Israel and its military are treating sick patients and civilians sheltering in hospitals.
