Top Iranian official constantly changed locations to escape Israeli surveillance
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, Ali Larijani has been constantly moving between secret locations over the past two weeks to avoid detection by Israel.
The media, citing senior sources in the Israeli Defense Ministry, emphasizes that Larijani had become the main target after the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, on February 28. According to the same sources, Israel deployed significant intelligence resources and operational capabilities to locate him.
The report notes that Larijani was experienced in evading surveillance and implemented numerous security measures to delay his identification. One of the main measures was constantly changing his residence to various secret locations.
The sources add that these measures reflect the high level of threat that senior Iranian officials perceive from Israeli operations.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the operation was carried out after a combination of surveillance by special units and rapid decision-making by the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Eyal Zamir, in coordination with the political leadership.
The information was immediately transmitted to the highest decision-making levels, which ordered the dispatch of fighter jets on a mission at a distance of about 1,600 kilometers. According to sources in the Ministry of Defense, this coordination contributed to the success of the operation.
It is believed that the elimination of Larijan could affect the strategic position of the United States in the current context of the conflict.
