Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at a press conference held today, harshly attacked the Iranian leadership and stated that Iran's new supreme leader is avoiding public appearances following recent developments in the conflict.
" We eliminated the old tyrant and now the new one dares not appear publicly ," Netanyahu said, referring to changes in Iran's leadership following the recent strikes.
Asked about the fate of Mojtaba Khamenei, Netanyahu refused to reveal whether Israel had any plans to attack him, but said: “ I would not give a life insurance policy to any of the leaders of this terrorist regime and I will not give you an exact report on what we are planning and what we will do .”
He added that the Israeli operations have severely hit the regime structures in Tehran. " We have struck at the heart of their military program and the network they use to threaten Israel and the region ," the Israeli prime minister declared.
Netanyahu stressed that Israel will continue to act against any threat coming from Iran and its allies in the region. “ We will do whatever is necessary to protect our citizens and stop Iranian aggression ,” he said.
His statements come at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain very high, following the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran and mutual attacks in the region.
At the same time, the lack of public appearances by Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has fueled speculation in the media, as his messages have so far only been conveyed through written statements by Iranian state media.
