Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered a $5 million reward for each hostage released from Gaza. He also promised that anyone who helps Israel free the hostages will get help to leave the besieged Palestinian territory.
"I say to those who want to get out of this blockade: whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way out for himself and his family. We will also give $5 million to each pledge. The choice is yours, but the result will be the same: we will return everyone home ," Netanyahu declared during a short visit to the Palestinian territory.
An earlier offer of this nature was dismissed by Hamas, an Iranian-backed Islamist militant group, as a farce.
The group said the remaining hostages would only be released as part of a deal to end the war, lift the blockade and rebuild the strip.
