The meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" for Ukraine begins; 30

A meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" for Ukraine, chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, has begun at the Elysee Palace in Paris. Among those present is Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff.

Emmanuel Macron welcomed the leaders of the coalition of good will in Paris over the past half-hour. Ukraine's allies will meet today to discuss specific details on security guarantees for Kiev. French President Emmanuel Macron spoke briefly before the meeting.

"Thank you all, colleagues, for joining. Now everyone is connected and thank you for joining us both in person and online on such short notice, and thank you Mr. President Volodymyr for being here in Paris with us today, along with all the leaders who made this possible ," Macron said.

The leaders participating in this summit physically are: Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, European Council President Antonio Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the US President's special envoy. 

Connected via videoconference are: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulidis, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

At the end of the summit, the leaders are expected to hold a conversation with US President Donald Trump, and then French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to address a press conference.
