
Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat as vote counting continues, but by an irreversible margin. This has forced Orbán to congratulate his opponent on his victory before the final result. The chairman of the Tisza Party announced on social media that Viktor Orbán called him and congratulated him on his election victory.
"Prime Minister Viktor Orbán just congratulated us on our victory on the phone," the Tisza president announced on Facebook.
Currently, with over 60 percent of the votes counted, the Tisza Party has 136 seats, while Fidesz-KDNP has 56 seats.
Prime Minister Orban confirmed at the event awaiting the results that he had congratulated Hungarian Péter on his victory.
