The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned that famine will engulf the Gaza Strip due to "continuous bombardment" by Israeli forces.
"Hunger and disease will increase," he said, calling for the protection of hospitals so that doctors can care for patients suffering from hunger, disease and injuries.
The WHO director-general then called for "a ceasefire and full humanitarian access" to the Palestinian enclave.
We recall that since October 7 of last year, Hamas attacked Israel, while the latter responded by entering Gaza.
