
A memorial service was held in Montenegro for the 12 victims of the massacre that took place on the first day of the year.
The ceremony in the city of Cetinje was attended by family members of the victims as well as representatives of politics and the church.
The massacre happened on Wednesday, when a person started shooting in a bar, causing 12 victims and 4 wounded.
The perpetrator, identified as 45-year-old Aco Martinović, died after shooting himself in the head. The serious episode, the second of its kind in Cetinje, has caused anger and despair in Montenegro.
Authorities have begun considering new ways to curb illegal weapons, with the National Security Council announcing measures to confiscate unregistered weapons.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić declared that even the owners of registered weapons will be subject to new psychological checks. He also promised "draconian" punishments for those who carry guns illegally.
