More than 60 million people have voted by mail in the 2024 presidential election. According to data collected by CNN, votes have been cast in 47 states and the District of Columbia with less than a week to go before Election Day.
That's about 38% of the roughly 158 million votes cast for president in 2020.
Ten states have already passed 50% of their 2020 vote totals, led by Georgia, which passed two-thirds of its 2020 votes.
With polls predicting a close race between Trump and Harris, Republicans and Democrats have mobilized to get as many people out to vote as possible.
This initiative has led to a significant increase in the number of voters who participated in the first phase of postal voting.
