The reappearance of bandages on the hand of US President Donald Trump has once again sparked strong speculation about the state of his health, CNN reports.
The White House was once again prompted to clarify the situation, stating today that Trump is wearing a bandage on his hand to cover the bruises caused by the numerous handshakes during daily meetings in the Oval Office and beyond.
"The president literally shakes hands all the time. The Oval Office is like a central station. He meets more people than you can imagine every day," White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said at a press conference.
"He also takes aspirin daily, as his clinical examinations show, which could contribute to these bruises you see," Levitt added.
According to the report, the White House provides the same clarification as the previous time, when the same debate was raised.
Recall that Trump recently announced that he has been diagnosed with "chronic venous insufficiency," a condition that causes swelling in the lower extremities because the veins in the legs do not pump blood efficiently towards the heart.
However, this diagnosis does not appear to be related to the bruises on the hands.
