Protests in Belgrade, Financial Times: Time for the regime to end, 55 percent of

A public opinion poll conducted for the Serbian government, to which the Financial Times had access, showed that support for President Aleksandar Vučić has fallen significantly and that only 1/3 of respondents have confidence in him, while 55% do not trust him.

On the other hand, Serbian students, who have been protesting and blocking universities for months, are supported by 58% of respondents.

Referring to the protest being held in the Serbian capital, the Financial Times writes "Serbs arrive in Belgrade: it's time for the regime to end."

"An internal government opinion poll, obtained by the Financial Times, shows that support for Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party has fallen sharply: 55 percent of respondents do not trust him, while only 1/3 have confidence in his leadership." "Students have 58 percent support," says an article in the London newspaper.

The article, among other things, states that hundreds of thousands of Serbs are protesting against Vučić's repression and corruption and that they are defying fears of a violent crackdown by the authorities on the protesters.

The Serbian parliament has been closed and Western embassies in Belgrade have warned their citizens of the risk of violence, reminiscent of the end of Slobodan Milosevic's regime 25 years ago, the London daily writes.

The newspaper emphasizes that the months-long protests have become the biggest challenge for Vučić, whom it describes as "the propaganda minister during the Milošević era," but adds that he has managed to politically survive the mass demonstrations.

The Financial Times, among others, reports the statement of Belgrade student Angjela Radojevic that they "agreed that it was time for the regime to end because a life worth living is only possible after that." /Adapted from Pamphlet/
