French President Emmanuel Macron has gathered the Prime Minister and 2 of his ministers in a meeting to discuss the security situation in the country.
He has been meeting with French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, Interior Minister Gerald Darmani and Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti for several hours.
The French media have also published photos from the meeting, meanwhile it is not known what decision was taken by the French government.
Thousands of people have been arrested in five nights of protests in response to the police killing of 17-year-old Nahel Merzouk in the Paris suburb of Nanterre.
The unrest has forced Macron to postpone what would have been the first state visit to Germany by a French president in 23 years, starting on Sunday evening.
