The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has described the judicial investigations against the former President of the USA, Donald Trump, as "a persecution for political reasons".
The Russian leader made this statement at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, where he spoke about relations with the US, which he said Moscow considers "an eternal enemy". He said that "a lot of people" in America are looking for good relations with Russia.
Putin said that whoever becomes the president of the USA would not have fundamental changes in the American policy towards Russia.
" The judicial investigations against Donald Trump in the USA are a persecution for political reasons. "Whoever becomes president, there will be no fundamental changes in American policy towards Russia ," Putin said.
