The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, in an interview said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has no desire for peace and an end to the war.
" Zelensky's regime has no will for peace. His representatives are thinking in terms of war, resorting to quite aggressive rhetoric. Any cessation of hostilities is out of the question for them. The negotiations offered by Russia on September 30, 2022, are still in force, but not accepted by Zelensky ," said the senior Russian diplomat.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that the Russian side has never rejected any peace talks with Ukraine. The Russian leader noted that Ukraine publicly announced its withdrawal from the negotiation process in the spring of 2022.
Lavrov said that the more Kiev postpones the negotiations, the more difficult it will be to reach an agreement. According to the Russian Foreign Minister, the first step in the talks between Russia and Ukraine should be the unlocking of Zelensky's negotiations with Moscow. /TASS
