US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Turkey for the second part of his trip to the region. The top US diplomat was in Jordan earlier today, where he held talks with the country's King Abdullah on Syria.
The US State Department announced that Blinken will discuss Syria and ongoing bilateral cooperation with government officials in Turkey, including counterterrorism and regional stability.
The meeting comes as the US-backed Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to clash with Turkish-backed Syrian National Army forces in the north of the country. Blinken previously called US support for the SDF "critical".
