The United States, according to reports circulating during the day, has also targeted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the recent attacks against Iran. In this context, his son stated that the assassination attempts have failed and that the president is in good health.
" First of all, I want to say that he is in good health. As far as I know, this time the assassination attempts were unsuccessful and the other officials are also safe ," Yousef Pezeshkian was quoted as saying by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
His statements came as news spread of the deaths of several Iranian officials during the attacks launched this morning by Israel and the United States against Iran. Iranian media reported that several government and military officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Army Chief Amir Hatami, are in good health.
Meanwhile, Reuters, citing sources familiar with Israeli military operations and a regional source, reported that today's Israeli strikes in Iran are suspected of killing Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh, as well as the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, General Mohammed Pakpour.
