It all happened today in Budapest, on the balcony of Sandor Palace, the official residence of the Hungarian president. Next to President Tamas Szulok, Peter Magyar, the winner of the last parliamentary elections, was enjoying the view when he noticed Viktor Orban on the balcony of a neighboring building.
In a video posted on social media, he asks: "Is the prime minister there, is he reading something?" while Orban appears to be reading a document.
A few seconds later, Magyar shakes his hand and comments: "it's like a scene from a big movie."
In the caption of his Instagram post, party leader Tisza continues in the same vein and invites his followers to guess what his political opponent is reading.
He suggests various possibilities, such as "his farewell speech," or "Trump's statement today."
After his meeting with President Tamas Szulok, Peter Magyar announced that he had asked him to resign.
"I repeated to him that, in my opinion and that of the Hungarian people, he is unworthy of representing the unity of the nation and incapable of ensuring respect for the law," he said as he left the presidential palace.
