New details have come to light from the serious accident that occurred overnight on the Skopje city ring road, in the segment between the Vizbegova overpass and the Mirkovci junction.
At least four people lost their lives in the tragic incident, after a BMW vehicle collided with a truck and then burst into flames.
According to reports, the 76-year-old truck driver is suspected of losing control of the vehicle, breaking through the protective barrier and crossing into the opposite lane. There, he collided head-on with a BMW driven by a 51-year-old man from Skopje.
Emergency services have confirmed the death of four people at the scene. The victims are the driver of the vehicle RV (51 years old), as well as the two passengers AV (20 years old) and PM (20 years old), all from Skopje. Another person has lost his life, but his identity has not yet been released.
Meanwhile, the truck driver has been arrested and is being held at a police station, while the competent authorities continue their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
