Japanese seismologist: 4 regions in Turkey at risk from earthquake with

The barrage of seismic tremors that has been occurring in the Aegean for many days has caused great fear and panic in Turkey as well.

Japanese earthquake expert Yoshinori Moriwaki, who had spoken of an earthquake with a magnitude greater than 7 on the Richter scale and a tsunami in the Aegean Sea, has returned with frightening new warnings.

Specifically, he said that major earthquakes could occur in four critical areas of Turkey. Moriwaki drew attention to the tsunami risk for the Aegean Sea and listed the dangerous provinces.

Japanese civil engineer Yoshinori Moriwaki drew attention to seismic activity in the Aegean Sea, which has been particularly active recently, and stressed that a magnitude 7 earthquake could occur around Santorini, while also stating that such an earthquake would be felt in areas such as Mugla, Marmaris, Datca and Izmir, and also increases the risk of a tsunami.

Moriwaki, who said that earthquakes in the Aegean have decreased in recent days, emphasized the following: "They may disappear gradually or if they disappear for a few days, but this big earthquake may come. For example, if a 7 Richter earthquake occurs, it can be felt as far as Mugla, Marmaris, Datça and Izmir, with a tsunami scenario."

However, as he added, the recent sea level drop observed is unrelated to the earthquake.
