Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reaffirms his support for Ukraine during his visit to Kiev today.
Sanchez said Ukraine's civilian population is surviving a "continuous rain of airstrikes" to defend "core international principles" such as sovereignty and independence.
" Of course, we are closely monitoring the recent internal events in Russia, but they do not change the situation on the ground here in Ukraine. Still today, the civilian population is surviving a constant reign of airstrikes and criminal destruction of infrastructure, and they are doing so to defend core international principles such as sovereignty, independence or territorial integrity," he said .
The visit marks Sanchez's third time in Kiev since Russia launched its full-scale invasion last February. The visit also coincided with the first day of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union. Sanchez promised Ukraine that he will be "at the center of all debates for the interest of Ukraine.
