In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Donald Trump sent a new message of optimism about the path of the US economy, claiming that "oil prices and interest rates are falling."

The US president stressed that the US, which he called "long abused", collects billions of dollars every week from tariffs already imposed on countries he accuses of benefiting from them.
Trump particularly attacked China, calling it the "biggest exploiter of all", saying its markets were "collapsing", while criticizing its decision to increase its own tariffs by 34% - an increase he said was on top of the "already ridiculously high tariffs" it has imposed for years.
He also complained that Beijing had ignored his warnings not to retaliate, noting that "they have gained a lot over the decades, taking advantage of good old America."
At the end of his post, Trump blamed previous administrations for the situation he said he inherited: "The 'leaders' of the past are guilty of allowing all of this to happen in our country." His message ends with the slogan: "Make America Great Again."
