The cold has 'invaded' Greece since yesterday evening, and some areas of northern Greece have been covered in snow.
Snowfall will also occur in the mountainous parts of Central Greece from the early morning hours. However, in most of the country there will be rain and in the northeast with sporadic storms, while the phenomena will begin to weaken by the afternoon.
Typical are the images from Thessaloniki that appeared with snowstorms in some areas.
Also, the drop in temperature, which is expected to be around 10 degrees Celsius, will be felt more today in the central and northern areas of the country. From Tuesday 08/04, the rest of Greece will also be affected, while the frost will continue in the northern areas of the country, mainly in the morning and evening hours, until Friday 11/04.
According to the updated Emergency Weather Bulletin, heavy local rains will continue in the morning hours of Monday (07-04-2025) in Eastern Thessaly, Sporades and northern Evia.
Heavy snowfall in places.
Until Monday noon, there will be snowfall in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Thrace and Macedonia (areas with an altitude of 400 meters and above) and locally in the prefecture of Evros and in the plain areas.
Frost will continue in the northern areas in the evening hours of Monday (07-04-2025) and inland throughout mainland Greece in the morning and evening hours of Tuesday and Wednesday and in the morning hours of Thursday.
