The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today that the whole world, but also the Balkan region, is rapidly arming itself, while emphasizing that Serbia will not be left behind.
During a visit to the Russian House in Belgrade, with the Russian ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Bocan Kharchenko, Vucic added that very soon it will be seen how Serbia is arming itself.
"Everyone in the region is getting armed. We will not be left behind either. All I can tell you is that we are not behind in this regard. You will soon be able to see it. I also follow closely everything that happens around the world. And in America, and in England, and in France, and in Germany. We are closely monitoring everything everywhere. But what you don't have to follow closely, what you see, even if you don't see anything and pretend you don't hear anything, is that everyone is arming themselves to the teeth ," said Vucic.
When asked how he understands the statement of the British Foreign Minister, David Cameron, that Serbia is a tool of Russia, he said that Serbia is a sovereign and independent country, not a representative of Russia, Britain, America, Germany or anyone else.
" Serbia is proud of its independence. That is why I am disappointed by Mr. Cameron's statement and the story that we will be the ones to destabilize the region, because it seems to me that others are doing it with the help of those factors that teach us lessons every day. It is clear that you upset a lot of people when you want to have your own politics. We will continue to have our independent policy, even in the matter of the Russian Federation ," said Vucic, reports Danas.
