A shocking incident has sparked strong reactions in Italy after four migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan were burned alive inside a van at a gas station in the Calabria region.
Security camera footage released by authorities today shows the moments of the attack. According to preliminary investigations, two men, believed to be of Pakistani origin, poured gasoline inside the vehicle and held the doors closed, preventing the victims from leaving.
Moments later, the van burst into flames, killing the four people inside.
Thanks to security camera footage, Italian carabinieri identified and arrested the two suspects in the crime.

According to Italian media, the motive for the attack is related to the victims' refusal to pay money for transportation by van.
A friend of the victims told the media that they worked on agricultural land in harsh conditions. According to him, the migrants often did not even receive the minimum wage promised for their daily work.
Italian authorities are continuing their investigations to fully elucidate the circumstances of the incident, which has brought to light the difficult conditions faced by many migrant workers in the country's agricultural sector.
