Hundreds of large sinkholes have opened up in Turkey, a phenomenon that has created panic. The phenomenon has been observed across large areas of Turkey, creating the idea of land collapsing without warning.
Nearly 700 sinkholes have appeared in various parts of Turkey, while new ones continue to appear, due to extreme drought.
A stunning video from the Konya region shows large craters attributed to extreme heat and drought caused by climate change, as well as the overuse of groundwater for agricultural purposes.
