Nuclear triad; Vladimir Putin's latest plan
Russian President Vladimir Putin

Putin emphasizes the importance of the "triad" of Russia's nuclear forces that can be launched from land, sea or air, according to Interfax.

The war in Ukraine has been going on for a year and a half and nothing indicates a possible end is imminent. The Ukrainian counter-offensive continues as tensions rise in Moscow between President Vladimir Putin's military leadership and Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who heads mercenaries who have fought alongside the army in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, in the Kremlin, they are advancing in their special aspiration to achieve what is known as the "nuclear triad".

With it, together with the most modern weapons, the country will achieve greater global security and stability.

"The main task is the development of the nuclear triad, which is the main guarantee of Russia's military security and global stability," the Russian President said during a graduation ceremony for new officers, reports AL Jazeera.

An increasingly realistic target since, as the Russian leader has specified, "almost half of the units of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces are equipped with modern Yars systems and the arsenals are being modernized with Avangard hypersonic warhead missile systems. The first launchers of the Sarmat system with a new heavy missile will soon be put on operational watch."
The Russian Triad

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu had previously expressed himself in terms similar to those of Putin: "We will continue to develop the nuclear triad and maintain its combat capability."

A trio consisting of a strategic arsenal, among which are intercontinental missiles, located in remote parts of Russia, missiles carried by strategic bombers (land-based or on aircraft carriers) and nuclear submarines loaded with SLBM-type missiles (missile ballistic).

Putin also adds that soon the first launchers of the Sarmat system with a new heavy missile will be placed in "operational guard" mode.

Although this represents a new step in the nuclear field and, consequently, in the threat to Ukraine, the Russian leader considers that "there is still much to do to increase the qualitative potential of all components of the Armed Forces."

Recently, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia is working on the supply of drones and robotic attack systems, after verifying their "success" during the current war: "We will force mass production of these tools, it is necessary to supply all units with this type of equipment".

Putin also emphasized the importance of Russia's "triad" of nuclear forces that can be launched from land, sea or air, according to Interfax.
