US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran would have attacked Israel and possibly the US if he had not ordered attacks on the country first, describing the war as a wonderful thing that is happening before your eyes.
"I think if we hadn't done it first, they would have done it with Israel and given us a chance if it was possible," he said during an event at the White House.
Trump declared the war with Iran a great success from its first days, rating it a 15.
" We're doing very well on the war front, to put it mildly. I would say, someone said on a scale of 10, where would you rate it? I said about 15 ," Trump said.
Trump's assessment matched that of other administration officials, who provided updates on the conflict earlier Wednesday.
The president said that Iran's missiles are being rapidly destroyed, their launchers are being destroyed. He acknowledged Iran's attacks on its neighbors, but did not stop there.
" They're attacking their neighbors. They're attacking, in some cases, their allies, or, not long ago, allies. And, you know, it's really a nation that was out of control ," Trump said.
The president also suggested that he has no idea who could lead Iran after the assassination of its top leaders.
" Their leadership is rapidly disappearing. Everyone who seems to want to be a leader ends up dead ," Trump concluded.
