Pope Leo XIV reacted to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, expressing concern about the spread of conflict in the region.
Through a post on the social network "X", he called for an immediate cessation of fighting and emphasized the need for an approach based on dialogue.
The Pope proposed that confrontations be replaced with sincere dialogue and respect for the dignity of every person, as the foundation for building peace.
"I continue to follow the situation in the Middle East with concern. Like other regions of the world, it is ravaged by war and violence. We cannot remain silent in the face of the suffering of so many defenseless victims of these conflicts. What hurts them hurts everyone...
I strongly reiterate my call to persevere in prayer. May hostilities cease and paths to peace finally open, based on sincere dialogue and respect for the dignity of every human person.
