US President Donald Trump, addressing House Republicans in Florida, said that the war in Iran is a short-term excursion. Trump then praised the US military, describing it as an “army like no other.” He stressed that if the US had not intervened, then Iran would have attacked first.
" Within a week, they would have attacked us, 100%. They all had these missiles, far more than anyone thought, and they would have attacked us. But they would have attacked the entire Middle East and Israel, and if they had nuclear weapons, they would have used them against Israel ," Trump said.
According to the President, after the attack on Iran, the world now respects the US like never before.
" The world respects us now more than it has ever respected us ," Trump says.
He further added that Iran's missile and drone capabilities have been completely destroyed by US-Israeli attacks, while its navy is at the bottom of the ocean.
" We are destroying the enemy with great technical capabilities. We have sunk 46 enemy naval units. We have beheaded the leadership of Iran and now no one knows who decides. Remember, Iran has done so many bad things. The terrorists' hours are numbered ," Trump said.
As for the end of the war, Trump said that the military will not withdraw from Iran until the enemy is finally defeated.
"We will not surrender until the enemy is completely and decisively defeated. We are more determined than ever to achieve final victory. In a way, we have already won, but not enough ," he said.
Trump also referred to the killing of Iran's top military leader during his first term, Qassem Soleimani.
"He could have been a lot more capable than he is now if he had lived. Because he was capable. He was tough, brutal, capable. But we eliminated him first ," the US president said.
Trump also added that no one has any idea who will rule Iran after the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, despite the fact that his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was appointed the country's supreme leader.
"Their terrorist leaders are either gone, or they are counting the minutes until they are gone. And now, no one has any idea who the people are who will lead the country ," Trump said.
