Trump warns of another action by the US military and CIA: Cuba will collapse
US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump has told the media that "Cuba will collapse very quickly," adding that Venezuela, once the island's largest supplier, has not sent oil or money to Cuba recently.

"Cuba is going to collapse very quickly. It's a country that's really close to collapse," Trump told reporters on Tuesday. "You know, they were getting their money from Venezuela. They were getting their oil from Venezuela. They're not getting it anymore," he said.

Following the successful operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Trump has spoken of taking action against Cuba and putting pressure on its leadership. At the same time, he has vowed to cut off oil and money from Venezuela, a longtime supporter of Cuba.

Cuban President Diaz-Canel said a few days ago that Washington does not have the moral authority to impose an agreement on Cuba, following Trump's suggestion that the island should reach an agreement with the US.

The secret American plan to overthrow the Cuban regime

The Trump administration is actively seeking regime change in Cuba and hopes to reach an agreement to end communist rule on the island by the end of the year, the American media outlet Wall Street Journal writes.

To facilitate the political transition, the Trump administration is seeking Cuban government insiders who can help the US remove existing communist leaders from power, the Wall Street Journal reported.

A "concrete plan" to get rid of the communist government that has ruled Cuba for nearly 70 years has not yet been developed, according to the newspaper, but the government's grip on the island has never been more fragile.

Following the overthrow of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, Cuba's economy is on the verge of collapse, US officials told the media.

Cuba has depended on Maduro for oil, and the island could run out of fuel within weeks.
The Trump administration aims to prevent further flow of Venezuelan oil to Cuba to further weaken the regime.

The capture of Maduro by US forces and the subsequent success the Trump administration has had in extracting concessions from the Venezuelan government are being seen as a plot against Cuba, US officials said.

The January 3 military operation to arrest Maduro required help from an asset within the Venezuelan dictator's inner circle.

To identify a similar potential asset in Cuba, the Trump administration has met with Cuban exiles and civic groups in Miami and Washington, U.S. officials told the Journal.

The Trump administration could increase pressure on Cuba while simultaneously negotiating "a market exit" for the country's leaders, namely 94-year-old Raúl Castro, brother of the late dictator Fidel Castro, and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

President Trump warned Cuba earlier this year that it was time to “make a deal.” “THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA – ZERO!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Jan. 11.
