Trump chooses Mark Brnovich as US ambassador to Serbia, Albania in

US President Donald Trump has nominated former Arizona prosecutor Mark Brnovich as the United States ambassador to Serbia.

"Mark is a proud veteran of the National Guard and previously served as Arizona's Attorney General. As the son of refugees fleeing communism, Mark will be a strong defender of freedom and will always put America first ," Trump said.

Brnovich was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1966. His parents were from Serbia, having immigrated from the former Yugoslavia. His father was originally from Montenegro and his mother from Split, Croatia.

Brnovich is a U.S. attorney and politician. He was the 26th Attorney General of Arizona from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he was a candidate for the 2022 U.S. Senate election in Arizona. He is married to Susan Brnovich, a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

What is striking is that while in Serbia the rotation of US ambassadors has been done in a short time, Albania on the other hand seems to be in limbo, we have been without an American ambassador in Tirana for almost two years and there is still no mention of any name.
