The former prime minister is expected to attract figures from SYRIZA and the left camp, as the reorganization of the political scene in Greece begins.

Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to present his new political party this week, in a move that is causing shockwaves in the Greek political scene and especially in the left-wing camp.

The party's presentation will take place on Tuesday in Athens, where Tsipras is expected to announce the name, political program and leadership team of the new force.

According to Greek media, the new party is expected to attract well-known figures from SYRIZA, but also from other center-left formations.

One of the first names to join the initiative is Dionysis Temponeras, a prominent SYRIZA figure who resigned from the party over the weekend in support of Tsipras. Reports in Greece also speak of other moves by MPs and officials towards the new political formation.

The creation of Tsipras' party comes at a time of fragmentation and reorganization of the Greek left, following the long crisis in SYRIZA and the electoral losses of recent years.

Tsipras himself also signaled the symbolic identity of the new party through a post on social media, where he published a blue and red soccer ball.

" These are the colors of our country and our struggles ," the former Greek prime minister wrote.

The development is being followed with great interest in Athens, while the first polls on the influence of the new party are expected to be published in the coming days.

Greek analysts see Tsipras' return as an attempt to regain control of the progressive space and create a new opposition alternative to the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
