
The Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced that after the terrorist bomb attack in the capital Ankara, Turkey has carried out an air strike in northern Iraq.
The airstrike destroyed 20 targets belonging to the Kurdish PKK militant group, which claimed responsibility for the bombing.
In a post on Platform X, a Turkish government spokesman said airstrikes were carried out against terrorist targets in the Metina, Hakurk, Qandil and Gara regions of northern Iraq at 21:00 on October 1. (BTO).
"A total of 20 targets, caves, bunkers and warehouses used and believed to contain the terrorists responsible were destroyed. Many terrorists were neutralized using the maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition in the operations carried out ," the defense ministry said.
On Sunday morning, two police officers were wounded in an attack in Ankara, hours before parliament reopened after a three-month summer break.
Two terrorists carried out the attack, Turkey's interior minister, Ali Yerlikaya, said. One died in the blast and the other was killed in a shootout with the police.
