A pedophile of British origin previously convicted in Albania for abusing minors, has not given up his monstrosities. Robin Arnold was imprisoned in Albania in 2010 after raping a 13-year-old minor, the BBC reports.
After returning to Britain he began befriending families in Carlisle, England, buying gifts for the children, unaware that he was an abuser.
71-year-old Robin Arnold was one of two Britons arrested in 2010 by a court in Albania. He was sentenced to 15-and-a-half years in prison for raping a boy under 13, who was reportedly involved in a Christian orphanage.
He was released from custody in March 2020 and remains subject to an indefinite sexual abuse prevention order. He is forbidden to live or stay in any family where there are children.
So last month police learned that Arnold had befriended a number of African families in Carlisle. He had introduced himself and offered to help. His mobile number was shared within the community.
His "prey" fell two mothers, each with three children and a father with two minors. On several different dates in late 2022 and early 2023, Arnold had delivered furniture to their homes while the young men were present.
"The children knew the defendant. He brought them gifts. They called him Uncle Rob," said prosecutor Ben Stanley.
When questioned by the police, the 71-year-old said that he had forgotten the request for the order. He admitted four offenses and, the court heard, had other previous convictions for indecent assault dating back to 1987 and 1994.
The court decided to leave the elderly man in prison for 20 months, while the judge also gave him a message.
"You deliberately deceived them. I find that you are not a sincere and repentant person. You keep trying to hide behind half-truths and lies. You probably deceive yourself as much as you seek to deceive others," he told her.
