Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said today that if "atrocities" against Gaza continue, Muslims and resistance forces may lose patience and no one would be able to prevent their actions.
"The world is witnessing the ethnic cleansing carried out by the Zionist regime," Khamenei said during a speech in Tehran, CNN reports.
Israel has claimed it is making efforts to minimize civilian casualties by warning civilians to leave northern Gaza, but the total number of deaths reported by the Palestinian health ministry is close to 3,000.
The US and Israel say Iran is the main backer of Hamas, which launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7 that left 1,400 dead, although there is no concrete evidence for these allegations. Iran has denied any involvement in launching the Hamas attacks.
US President Joe Biden has warned Iran to be careful with its actions in the region, while French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have both warned Tehran against meddling and escalating the Israel-Hamas war.
