The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council in Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, has warned Ukraine of an "inevitable punishment" for the killing of the top Russian general, Igor Kirillov, who led Russia's nuclear, biological and chemical defense forces.
Medvedev made the threat through a statement to the RIA Novosti agency, calling the Ukrainian attacks cowardly.
"The military-political leadership of the Kiev regime will face an inevitable punishment for the murder of Kirillov. Realizing the inevitability of its military defeat, it undertakes cowardly and despicable attacks on peaceful cities ," he said.
We recall that a powerful explosion in Moscow this morning resulted in the killing of General Kirillov and his aide. Russian media reports that the explosive device was hidden in a scooter and was activated remotely, containing about 300 grams of explosives.
