The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, left for the United States of America, where he will be received at his Mar-a-Lago residence by former President Donald Trump.
"We need leaders in the world who are respected and who can restore peace. Trump is one of them. Come back and bring us peace, Mr. President," Orban wrote as he left for the trip.
Meanwhile, there was a courtesy response from Trump who went to Truth that "There is no better and more intelligent leader than Viktor Orban, who is doing a great job".
Orban, a right-wing politician, has repeatedly clashed with the European Union over his anti-immigrant campaigns and rulings that have placed the judiciary, non-governmental organizations and media under state control.
The Hungarian prime minister has refused to send weapons to Kiev and has maintained close trade relations with Russia since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. He has repeatedly said that only with Trump's return to the White House can peace be achieved in Ukraine.
