The Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic, issued a strong statement to the local media today.
Vučič emphasizes that the chances of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe are still very high, but he further states that he is proud that Belgrade is doing its best to prevent this.
" Thus, we respect the European rules and everything we have agreed with the Europeans and the Americans ", said Vucic.
He stated that after Dora Bakojani's "strange visits" to Athens, there was no talk about the formation of the association of Serbian municipalities as a condition for Kosovo's entry into the Council of Europe, nor about the prevention of further expropriations and the formation of the so-called police and military stations in the north of Kosovo.
Vucic also said that the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has said that after joining the Council of Europe, families who have been denied justice for 25 years, will have access to the European Court of Human Rights to sue Serbia and that is why it is necessary for them for the membership process to be successful.
