The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during a statement to the media this Wednesday, June 18, outside the Parliament, was asked about his statement that Serbian agents may have been present at the protests.
Berisha claimed that there is cooperation between Tirana and Belgrade against the protesters.
"The digital citizen told me that there are Serbian agents in the protest. This is because there is a collaboration between Tirana and Belgrade. They are hiring Serbian experts for the prolonged protests and it is an anti-Albanian act. The Serbs are not behind the sun. They are contracted, Vlora pays them and these. Vlora Çitaku is a combined agent between Rama and Vučić," said Berisha.
Speaking about the protests against the project in Zvërnec, the leader of the DP accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of violating national and international laws.
"The European Parliament has expressed continued concern about construction in protected areas. Edi Rama has violated national and international law. In 'Zvërneci', Rama has violated several laws. A rigorous environmental assessment must be made. The law requires that civil society and the community be consulted. There is a convention that requires that citizens be consulted. You saw the consultation, with delays.
"The DP has never been against foreign investment. But Rama has violated national and international laws. In addition, there is the problem of ownership. That is where Edi Rama's "black hands" are. Parliament should annul the 2024 law on construction in protected areas. The airport will destroy the flamingos," Berisha said.
